Unexpected Successor
You’ve recently received news about the death of a distant relative that you were only faintly familiar with, and of what was left to you in their will. While the various positions and titles that were bequeathed have little practical value by themselves, their true value shines in the social and political networks that they let you access. With them, your potential influence has been drastically extended, but by the same token you’ve come to the attention of a great deal of shadowy figures who might wish to use you for their own ends.

Skills: History, Persuasion
Languages: Pick any two
Equipment: A set of fine clothing, a token proving your identity, 30 gp

Feature: Network of Contacts
Your titles and now your name spread far ahead of you. In major settlements, you can use them to gain access to exclusive gatherings and events, and locally important figures are inclined to allow you an audience or give you leeway that they would not otherwise grant.
